Please welcome Sherry DeFrancisci as she joins Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. as the new Director of The Excel Center. Sherry brings 20 years of teaching, curriculum writing, student advocacy, and school administration experience to this position. Specializing in Adult Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), she is excited to offer a new pathway for adults to achieve their high school diploma while earning a specific work certification.
Sherry is a huge proponent of student-centered instruction. She is passionate about removing barriers that prevent adults from sharing their skills and talents in the community and developing strategies for our participants to achieve their educational goals and meaningful careers.
Sherry is a native of Baltimore City and a proud graduate of the Baltimore City public school system. Sherry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Towson University, a TESOL Certificate and a master’s degree in the field of Education from UMBC.
